Single of the Day: The Byzantines “She Moves” (2016)

The Byzantines continued to explore the more chaotic fringes of indie rock/pop, gleaning themselves off the direct Brit-pop influences that drove much of their earlier material on new single “She Moves”. We already caught a move in a slightly different, restless direction on previous single release “Jamaica”, but this new gem sees the Adelaide group continue to refine themselves into a slick and sharp fusion of electronic and grit that is perfect for a late night out on the seedy part of town.

Working on their new material with Alex Markwell (The Delta Riggs) out of Twin Earth Studios in Adelaide, while also calling on the likes of Luke Million and Dan Crannitch (Love & Other Crimes) during the process, The Byzantines have been producing solid examples of where they’re headed time and time again whether it’s in studio or on the live front. We’ll be seeing more of these guys next month when their new EP drops, but for now, say hello to the weekend with “She Moves”, below.
