There are two things to love about today’s single of the day. Firstly, it’s a cover and covers are great; and secondly it’s by a band who have named themselves after the timeless Pokémon Pikachu, and that’s great too. The covered song in question is Pat Benatar’s “Love Is A Battlefield”, a classic that few would claim to be unfamiliar with. Pikachunes’ version is a funky number that plays around with off beats, duelling vocals, and a great mix that brings out an anchoring bass line through the general airiness of the piece. Definitely worth a listen.
