Single of the Day: Our Man in Berlin “A Lightbulb Mind” (2017)

Some new goodness from Perth’s Our Man in Berlin! They’ve been favourites of ours for a little while now and in their new single “A Lightbulb Mind”, the band has returned to the forefront after taking time out to regroup last year. Different directions, different inspirations and life in general had the band members eventually come back together more cohesively and the first result of these recent sessions is the tune you can listen to now, below.

The subject matter is heavy and personal; “A Lightbulb Mind” details drug addiction and the psychosis that resulted from it that a close family member of OMIB’s Haydn Mansell suffered. Heart on sleeve and bursting with a sense of earnestness that is unmistakeable.

Melodic and beautifully constructed, “A Lightbulb Mind” is well worth your time.
