Single of the Day: Brendan Maclean “Tectonic” (2015)

While enjoying the spotlight on the Sydney Opera House stage as part of the highly acclaimed production Velvet, Sydney artist Brendan Maclean has simultaneously been soaking up space on the airwaves with his outstanding new single “Techtonic”. You just couldn’t have enough attention on you at once could you? You had to go and release your best track to date at the same time didn’t you? Some people are just too talented, you know?

This really is his finest work to date though – it’s a spellbinding pop song, that grooves and pulses effortlessly, showcasing an artist who has found his sound amongst a beat that will get crowds dancing, while still maintaining his indie appeal that has grown his fanbase to date. Does this make the track his “crossover” from indie to mainstream? It just might. And we’re all better off for it. Listen to the track here, and curse him for its brilliance after the fact:

A spectacular music video is also out for the track, which you can watch here. Follow the man himself on his Facebook page.
