Single of the Day: Born Joy Dead “Sinkhole Holiday” (2017)

Today we’re happy to be getting around the latest slice of music from Brisbane’s Born Joy Dead! “Sinkhole Holiday” is the first track to be taken from the indie rock band’s forthcoming EP Throw Us in the Fire; a garage-fuzz fusion hit of a tune that once more shows the spirited nature of the band’s musicality. In Ben Dalton‘s vocals, the mood swells brilliantly, with the guitar building and growing in dynamism as the tune passes the four minute mark.

“I wanted to explore some of the shittier personal things that have plagued me from time to time like anxiety, stress and doubt and portray them in a way that makes the listener feel just as lost as I was.” Dalton has explained. “But, as holidays end, so do shit times, so there’s a kind of ‘Keep your chin up,’ vibe happening in there too.”
