Single of the Day: Alexander Biggs “Tidal Wave” (2016)

Melbourne’s Alexander Biggs has once again charmed the hell of us with his latest single, “Tidal Wave”. The third single taken from his debut EP Until I Go To Hell, “Tidal Wave” is another stunning release from this emerging artist set up for wider acclaim, for sure. Biggs has a fragility to his voice that is arresting and in the simplicity behind the folk composition of the track, “Tidal Wave” is a song that pulls you in and holds you there.

The guitar and percussion are tenderly arranged, though compared to Biggs’ previous single release “Out In the Dark”, you can hear the percussion take a little more prominence as he sings about distance, his lyricism once again coming crashing down on the listener with the potential to make one’s heart ache.

If you’re in Melbourne, you should check out Biggs’ single launch on September 1st at the Fitzroy Pinnacle. It’s a free show, from 8pm.
