Photo Highlights from The Aussie BBQ at SXSW 2015 ft. Hiatus Kaiyote, Steve Smyth, The Gooch Palms, Ball Park Music & more!

The Aussie BBQ returned to Brush Park on Friday, taking over the East and West sides of the venue to bring a day full of incredible Australian acts. Sosefina already brought you the full live review, but now here are some photo highlights from the day. First up, we start with the BBQ itself, supplied this year by Franks Sausages. It was delicious.

Haitus Kaiyote always impress, and their sets at SXSW have been no different, bringing together songs from their last record, alongside a taste of what’s coming next with Choose Your Weapon (due out in May).

Future Classic artist George Maple has been another favourite of the festival, and she opened one of the stages at the BBQ this week. We caught up with her backstage after her set. Look out for our interview with her!

Newcastle duo The Gooch Palms are relocating to Los Angeles, and are kicking off their adventure with a series of shows at SXSW. They’re sounding better than ever.

No surprise that Ball Park Music were impressing everywhere they went.

And then there was the one and only Jack Ladder with his band The Dreamlanders – made up of Kirin J Callinan (who was doing shows himself), Donny Benét, Frank Sutherland and Laurenz Pike of PVT.

And finally Sydney’s Steve Smyth rocked out (as per usual) with his two piece band:

This just takes on a part of the amazing day of Australian music… To find out which event The Aussie BBQ will be at next, head along to the official Sounds Australia website.
