Michael Robert Murphy

Former Wicked Whispers frontman Michael Robert Murphy launched his beautiful debut album, Chaos Magick last Friday. Michael played all the instruments on the album, and did all the arranging himself. He did however, rope in a few mates to help out on the odd track, including Will Sergeant from Echo and the Bunnymen, and Ian Skelly from The Coral.

Michael descibes the album as a “A scouse lo-fi autobiographical psychedelic odyssey”, and he launched the record at a very special gig, across the Mersey, at Future Yard, in Birkenhead on Friday night.

It was a stellar night out, with supports from locals Marvin Powell and The Stamp, and Glasgow’s The Poachers, who made it down to the Wirral for the night.

You can have a listen to Chaos Magick – a golden slice of Scouse psych-rock HERE.

Bruce was there to bring you these images.
