Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have unveiled the support for the Australian run of The Wild God Tour, announcing Aldous Harding as the opening act across all dates, a pairing that feels deliciously off-centre. NZ-born singer-songwriter Harding’s magnetic stillness and arrangements sit beautifully against the scale and emotional weight of Wild God, making her an exciting addition to an already monumental tour.
The shows mark the band’s first full national run here since 2017, when Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds toured Skeleton Tree to some of the most overwhelming reactions of their career. For many fans, this feels like the long-awaited return of the full live experience. We’ve been treated to the stripped-back solo reflections of Cave in recent years, but this is the band in their most powerful, communal form.
Their latest album Wild God (2024) arrived to widespread acclaim, and the touring of the record has only amplified the praise as it travelled through the UK, Europe and North America. The 2026 shows will pull heavily from Wild God while spanning more than 40 years of their catalogue in a two-and-a-half-hour performance.
As expected, tickets are moving fast. The Saturday 31 January Melbourne show is already sold out, with limited tickets remaining for the Friday 30 January and Sunday 1 February dates at Alexandra Gardens. All remaining Australian dates are still on sale, but will definitely sell out – you know what to do.
