Music Video of the Day: SOAK “Reckless Behaviour” (2015)

The return of SOAK to Australian shores has to be one of the most highly anticipated this end of 2015 – ever since her dynamic debut shows earlier in the year, the young Irish performer has gone on to form a formidable profile for herself in music markets around the world. Her debut album Before We Forgot How to Dream instantly landed in the hearts of music lovers who were becoming introduced to her honest and stunning songwriting style and today, we’re stoked to see that one of our favourite cuts from the album, “Reckless Behaviour”, now has a music video to accompany.

Directed by Bob Gallagher, the clip developed from a conversation with SOAK about the themes and possible directions the music video could take, into one about how to illuminate the issues close to her heart and ones affecting many young people today.

“You get the impression that she’s writing for someone, in a way that’s genuinely very caring and reassuring.” Gallagher has said. “The video is about what two people observe in each other and how that makes them relate in a way that transcends their difference in age or their backgrounds. Those connections between people are what help you to get well and stay healthy, so I hope the video goes some way towards illustrating that.”
