Music Video of the Day: RVG “IBM” (2018)

Melbourne’s RVG are gearing up for a huge 2018, with international tour dates right on the horizon; the band is preparing to bring their acclaimed debut album A Quality of Mercy to American and European audiences for the first time.

Ahead of RVG’s third, yes third, sold out gig at The Old Bar on home turf, the band has dropped some new visuals for their song, “IBM”. Charting a date between a man and computer. You read that one right. As vocalist/guitarist Romy Vager has explained:

“”IBM” is a song about someone falling in love with someone who is very obviously an old computer. I wanted to write something that was similar to something Robyn Hitchcock would write in that it makes a relatable point but does it from a ridiculous angle. One of the samples you can hear is the sound of a dentist drill. A few of our friends have said that when they listen to the song it makes their teeth itch, which was the plan.”
