Music Video of the Day: L-Fresh the Lion ft. Parvyn Kaur Singh “Get Mine” (2015)

L-Fresh the Lion may be a talented writer and performer, but the way he has been able to use his platform as an artist to project his beliefs and messages that resonate with many people around the country over the past year especially has been nothing short of stirring. His latest tune, “Get Mine”, featuring the perfectly placed vocal of Parvyn Kaur Singh, is the hip hop artist’s most current example of turning frustration into sheer determination – the music video is equally as effective.

Taking aim at the current social climate in Australia surrounding racism and attitudes toward immigrant communities, L-Fresh doesn’t hold back, nor should we be expecting him to. Having worked as a youth empowerment mentor at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre in Melbourne has influenced the urgency behind the message of this track, not to mention the news stories we as a public are now seeing spread across the front pages constantly.
