Laura Marling’s ‘Reversal of the Muse’ Podcast now features Dolly Parton & Emmylou Harris

Laura Marling recently launched a new podcast project back in August named Reversal of the Muse and is definitely a must listen for any fan of Marling’s and indeed, music fans keen to lock into something a little different. The podcast focuses of Marling in conversation with guests (predominantly female, though some male guest are involved) from different areas of the recording industry.

Whether it be from the retail world (guitar store owner Pamela Cole), engineers (Olga FitzroyVanessa Parr), labels (Amanda Ghost), producers (Catherine Marks) or fellow songwriters and artists (HAIMKaren ElsonMarika Hackman), Marling described the origins of Reversal of the Muse as being a platform to have conversations about female creativity.

“It occurred to me that in ten year of making records, I had only come across two female engineers working in studios. Starting from my experience of being a woman I began to ask myself what difference it might have made had I had more women around, if any. I wanted to know why progress has been so slow in this area and what effect it would have on music.”

The latest episode of Reversal of the Muse features the iconic Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris, both appearing on the show ahead of the re-release of their Trio album with Linda Ronstadt. You can hook yourself up with Reversal of the Muse by visiting the website HERE.
