Last Dinosaurs announce the 10 Year Wellness anniversary tour

The feeling most people get who listened to Last Dinosaurs as they came into the Australian indie scene in the early 2010s is that of nostalgia and euphoria. Their music has always felt alive, with the well known dreamy soundscapes of their music defining the last decade.

After five incredible studio albums, the Brisbane trio continue to push the boundaries of who they are in the Australian music scene while never straying too far from what we all know and love, only refining it with each new era..

While their debut album In A Million Years introduced them to the world, it was Wellness that truly put Last Dinosaurs on the map both nationally and internationally. The album propelled them onto stages at major festivals such as Lollapalooza, All Things Go Festival, and Corona Capital, and saw them touring alongside acts like Florence + The Machine, Foals, Foster The People, and many more.

To mark the massive occasion, Last Dinosaurs have excitedly announced the 10 year celebration of Wellness. Celebrating with a tour across the Australian East Coast and the release of a reworked version of the album titled Wellnxss on the 13th of February, with classic tunes like “Evie” and “Apollo” and an extra five songs as a special treat for fans!

Of the release, band member Sean Caskey comments, “Ten years ago, Lach, Sloane, Dan, and I released our sophomore album WELLNESS! It was the second chance for four boys from Brisbane State High to make another leap in the music world. I used to look back on this album as a bit of a failure, as there was so much pressure to follow up [2012 debut] IN A MILLION YEARS,’ but now I see it as the catalyst for the way we make music today. It forced us to completely change our approach to recording music by doing it all ourselves. This was after we dropped the demos on YouTube; the reaction to those lo-fi recordings was a massive surprise to us. That really inspired us to have more confidence in our own abilities and was the driving force behind [2018’s] YUMENO GARDEN. We’re so thankful to our fans, because it’s your positive energy that motivates us to keep pushing ourselves in the direction we need to go.”

Last Dinosaurs will be warming up crowds around Australia this winter, supported by American Rock Band, Bad Suns, who’ll be coming along for the ride. With their 29 million global streams, tickets will sell out quickly. So get in while you can!
