King Cannons frontman Luke Yeoward returns to Oz, forms new band in The 131’s!

When Luke Yeoward quit music following the break up of Melbourne favourites King Cannons, his main priority at the time was set on his family and new life they were forming for themselves in New Zealand. It didn’t take long for the frontman to have that itch however and after only a few months away, the desire to craft some more punk rock goodness reared its head.

So now here we are. 2016. Yeoward is back in Melbourne and jamming with longtime mate Cameron Brew and The Dirty Love brothers Hank and Rich Richards and what would you expect to happen, really? A dynamic that was too good to ignore was discovered and from there, The 131’s were formed.

The momentum of The 131’s has already been snowballing, with the praise streaming in for their fun, hectic sound, not to mention the release of “This Ain’t Culture” and its accompanying film clip, which you can watch below.

If you’ve been missing some spirited punk rock on the daily, these guys are deserving of your time. Through March and April, The 131’s will be performing a run of shows in Melbourne, including a residency at The Old Bar. Check ’em out!
