Growing up in Castlemaine, Victoria and first exploding onto the scene at just 17 years old, singer-songwriter KIAN’s progression is nothing short of incredible. The person behind the 4x Platinum single “Waiting” and winner of multiple APRA awards returns with another taste of his sophomore EP Shine, out 26 August.

Produced by Willie Tafa (ONEFOUR, Ariana Grande, Baker Boy) and collaborating with Jerome Farah and 1300, the EP showcases KIAN’s creative maturity. Previous singles “Fit in Here” and “Direction” discuss themes of life, growth and adversity in a new lens with a sharp production quality.

Shine is about going through something and then being able to come out the other side having learned to shine; having learned to use it to your own advantage and to be able to grow from it,” KIAN explains.

“I’ve been making some of my favourite music I’ve ever made at the moment. I like to sit in a lot of different spaces at once and I feel like Shine shows just how many different new dimensions I can sit in as an artist. I think that it’s cool to bring it all together into one.”

Accompanying the single is a striking video of the artist performing in an empty hall while being chased by two hooded figures with a before and after effect. The simple production has a climactic finish that leaves a lasting impression and will have you wanting more.

The seven-track project is shaping up to be a monumental effort from the young hopeful and “Shine” is bright and bold for all the right reasons. Follow KIAN on Facebook and Instagram for more in the lead up to the new EP – you don’t want to miss it.
