Kanye West starts 2016 with new track “Facts”

Kanye West started 2015 with a new song, the melodic “Only One” with Sir Paul McCartney, and it seems like it’s kicked off a new trend for the superstar rapper-producer. To kick 2016 off for his fans, West has released “Facts”, a welcome trap infused track that wouldn’t sound out of place on Future and Drake’s What a Time to be Alive, strutting along with a similar kind of bravado to get us in the mood for SWISH, dropping sly shots at the likes of Bill Cosby, Steve Harvey, and Nike.

With lines like “do anybody feel bad for Bill Cosby?/Did he forget the names just like Steve Harvey?”, the “Jumpman”-like release shows off West at his trash-talking best, although it can get a bit grating, sticking too close to the formulaic “it” sound of the moment, with the only endearing element the simple soul sample at the very beginning.
