Final checklist for the 2025 Mundi Mundi Bash

Mundi Mundi Festival

The 2025 Mundi Mundi Bash takes place outside Silverton (where Max Max was filmed) from the 21st to the 23rd of August. Unfortunately, if you were after the exclusive “Bound for the Bash” merch to display on your road trip, you’ve just missed that deadline. However, the good news is that there are a handful of camping tickets still available for this unique outback camping festival. There’s a veritable who’s who of Aussie performers, including Hoodoo Gurus, Missy Higgins, The Cat Empire, Birds of Tokyo and much more. In good and bad news, Sarah McLeod has had to pull out as she will be playing with the 27 Club at Edinburg Fringe.

There are plenty of early-bird arrival options, and if you are set up camping on the Wednesday you will get the opportunity to see the return of Headliners, the supergroup formed by the incredible musicians from last year’s Headliners ABC TV series. They leave a positive lasting impression on anyone that has had a chance to watch them perform.

The experience is just like a Mad Max adventure and people love dressing the part. It feels like a whole futuristic civilisation lands in the middle of an ancient plain, with camping all around the central arena.

There is no Big Red Bash at Birdsville this year, so the Mundi Mundi Bash will be the only opportunity for one of these outback adventures. For those curious as to how to go about the trek, there are plenty of hints on the website in the FAQ section. How to book early passes. Options to stay in Broken Hill. How to camp with friends. What facilities are available and can I make a campfire? Can I buy ice? Bringing a dog and many more questions are answered.

Apart from the music on the main stage, there are activities such as the “Mundi Undie Run” and the “Nutbush World Record” attempt, which are a fun way to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. It really is more than just a music festival. It’s a wonderful show of fun community spirit.
