Emma Bass returns with the official video for her intoxicating single “Sweet Dejavu”, premiering exclusively today on the AU review.
Released two weeks ago, “Sweet Dejavu” captures the magnetic tension between desire and distance — that fleeting moment where passion burns brightly, even when you know it won’t last. Sonically, the track sits firmly in Emma Bass’ sweet spot, pairing punchy, haunting vocals with deep, rolling UK garage basslines and crisp two-step percussion, wrapping raw emotion in underground club energy.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the track, Bass told the AU:
“Sweet Dejavu is actually a product of me hearing James Hypes track Waterfalls, which is an absolute banger by the way. The drop is that high energy UK Garage sound with a sprinkle of my vocals, but the lyrics are of a topic relatable to people everywhere. A fleeting experience is always a flavour ever savoured — a relatable story from myself.”
Visually, the accompanying clip mirrors the song’s push-and-pull between euphoria and introspection, switching between iconic Sydney coastline shots and sultry nightclub scenes. The contrast captures both the freedom of escape and the pull of the dancefloor, grounding “Sweet Dejavu” firmly in its late-night emotional core. Directed and filmed by Eagles Studios, the video amplifies the track’s sense of fleeting connection — intimate, immersive, and made for the after-hours.
A Sydney-based electronic artist known for her bold, groove-driven sound, Emma Bass blends UK Garage, house and tech influences with a dynamic live performance style that sets her apart. Her sets weave together rolling club rhythms, underground textures and her own powerful vocals, creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and high-energy — equally at home on a packed dance floor or under the stars.
Following a standout collaboration with Nemo on Be Rich Records — which made waves on the ARIA Club Chart — Bass has built a reputation for electrifying performances across festival stages and iconic venues nationwide. With “Sweet Dejavu” and its striking new visual, she continues to sharpen her place at the forefront of Australia’s electronic scene.
