Exclusive Single Premiere: This Space Is Ours “Accountability” ft. Amariah (2025)

This Space is Ours

Sometimes you’ve just got to let it all out. We’ve got just the song to help with this. Emo pop punk powerhouse This Space is Ours is  cranking it up to eleven on their blistering and cathartic new single, “Accountability”, featuring Amariah from Future Static on vocals. We’re pumped to be premiering the track ahead of its release on Thursday.

This Space is Ours are a band with tremendous versatility. From 2022’s pumping “My Name”, to the tender  “All The Things I’ve Been Avoiding”, they aren’t afraid to mix it up. They’ve gone heavy on this banging new release.

We’ve been big fans of alt-metal outfit Future Static since their inception, so with Amariah from the band featuring on the track, it piqued our interest straight away. We weren’t disappointed. It’s loud, urgent and blisteringly good.

About the track, the band has shared the following:

“Accountability is the most exciting song we’ve released yet—fast-paced, bouncy, and heavy, guaranteed to get your head nodding. Plus, it features killer guest vocals from Amariah of Future Static! We had an absolute blast putting this one together.

The lyrics of this song are simply about being frustrated with someone who never takes accountability for their actions – a classic narcissist. There’s a lot of them out there these days so I’m sure everyone will be able to relate it to an experience of their own.

This is a song that you can blast at full volume to let out all that frustration after you’ve had an argument with someone.

The writing of ‘Accountability’ began with a single guitar hook – the one that now kicks off the song. We loved it so much that we kept returning to it and built the whole song around it.

Once the song was finished, we felt something was missing and that was some heavier female vocals. We were incredibly lucky that Amariah from Future Static was more than happy to jump on board and provide her powerful voice in between supporting bands such as Enter Shikari and BabyMetal. She took the song to a whole new level.”

If somehow This Space Is Ours has passed you by before now, they released their debut single in 2021. The Melbourne band are renowned for their high energy shows, and have performed alongside acts like Bad/Love and Future Static.  Earlier this year they sold-out their own headline show – catch them live when you can. Indeed,This Space is Ours will be supporting nightlight, who are launching their debut EP, how does it feel? at the Bergy Bandroom in Brunswick on Saturday the 17th May.
