Exclusive Music Video Premiere: Love Like Hate “List” (2015)

Brisbane’s Love Like Hate have been further developing their current exploration of some gorgeous and dark pop balladry with “List”, part of their fascinating Unnoticed EP. Recorded with Lachlan Mitchell, the EP has seen the duo really sink their teeth into some exciting blends of post-punk licked guitars and darker pop melodies, a fusion which first brought them to the attention of many a few years ago.

“List” is officially released tomorrow (November 20th) but we’re stoked to be able to premiere the duo’s brand new music video today! As Sonia Ter Horst says of the experience of making the video, it was one that really lined up with the concept behind the song itself.

“The best part about of making this video was definitely having it filmed by a drone. We had a limited crew on set (just Adam and Toby from Contortionist), so the the majority of the time it was Heather and I by ourselves, having fun riding our bikes and just being followed by a drone. It really fed into the theme of the song.”

The song, detailing a hypothetical end-of-world scenario, is anything but a wallflower of a tune – captivating and well-crafted, it’s an addition to the Unnoticed EP that represents the Love Like Hate aesthetic perfectly.

“We really enjoyed just focusing on this clip after we got back from the UK,” Ter Horst says. “It was nice to take a break from touring and shows and just concentrate on making the video. We are getting ready to head back into the studio early next year to start recording our first full length album. Heather and I are both really confident in our sound and the direction of Love Like Hate, so I think it is a really great place for us musically.”
