Detroit rapper-producer Black Milk announces Australian and New Zealand tour

One of Detroit’s sharpest emcees and hardest working beatsmiths, Black Milk, will be heading down to Australia and New Zealand this November, performing a string of shows to complement his festival set at Tocumwal’s annual Strawberry Fields.

After consistently delivering quality projects like 2010’s Album of the Year and 2014’s If There’s a Hell Below, as well as performing as one-third of Random Axe with fellow Detroit emcee Guilty Simpson and the late great Sean Price, Black Milk stands as one of the best in Detroit’s vast underground scene, remaining in high demand for his tight, nuanced beats and equally respected for his rhymes. Adding to this, he recently released the excellent The Rebellion Sessions, a collaborative effort with D.C band Nat Turner that returns the emcee to the crispy live instrumentation over which he works best. The opportunity to hear live cuts from both Black Milk’s current and past projects shouldn’t be overlook by fans of classic hip hop across Australia and New Zealand.

Black Milk will be kicking off his tour halfway through November at Brisbane’s The Zoo before heading down to Sydney (Plan B Small Club) and Tocumwal (Strawberry Fields). Confirmed dates have him wrapping up the Australian leg in Canberra (Transit Bar), but Black Milk has stated, via his Facebook that more dates should be announced soon. His New Zealand leg will start in Auckland (Kings Arms) before finishing in Wellington’s Bodega.
