Courtney Barnett responds to Grammy nomination as tickets for her Australian tour fly!

Courtney Barnett has had a momentous year with the success of her debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit. The Melbourne based singer-songwriter returned home this week from a run of shows in the UK and Europe to be greeted by the news that she had just been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

Addressing the Grammy nomination, Barnett says:

“It’s an honour to be recognised amongst so many great artists on such a huge scale and it’s well beyond anything I ever imagined would happen off the back of my first album. It’s also really cool to see fellow Australians Tame Impala and Hiatus Kaiyote nominated too!”

Barnett has a busy schedule this Summer as her and her band will be appearing at Woodford Folk Festival, Falls Festival, Southbound, Sugar Mountain & the Twilight at Taronga series.

As well as the festival appearances, Barnett will also be performing in Perth at the Astor Theatre on Thursday, 7th January, Sydney at the Enmore Theatre on Saturday, 16th January and Melbourne at The Palais Theatre on Friday, 22nd January.

There is only a handful of tickets left for each headline show. Joining Courtney at all headline shows will be Cloud Control. Also supporting in Melbourne and Sydney is Wil Wagner (The Smith Street Band) and in Perth Methyl Ethel.
