Cameron Winter, best known as the voice behind Brooklyn-made Geese, will play his first solo Australian show at the Forum in Melbourne in early February 2026. It’s a one-night-only, Australian-exclusive date.
The show follows the release of Heavy Metal, his debut solo album, which quietly dropped via Partisan Records in late 2024. A soft-handed turn from Geese’s gritty post-punk, it’s a sparing, lilting record full of strange notes, bleak humour and melting arrangements. The reception has been equally poetic, with Pitchfork giving it Best New Music, The Line of Best Fit calling it “a minor miracle,” and Paste likening it to “a notebook found on a night bus, underlined in all the right places.” The record names big feelings with a sharpened pen and is made for long, heavy-treaded walks.
Since its release, Winter’s played a string of sold-out solo shows across the US and UK, favouring surreal church settings in Brooklyn and London. His live sets have been just as off-kilter as the record, with no usual band banter, just a guy with ten tracks to play and a gorgeously strange sense of timing. This Forum show will be the first time Australian audiences get to see the LP’s entirety in person.
