Updated: Byron Bay Bluesfest 2021 cancelled

Bluesfest

In what is devastating news for the organisers, artists and vendors, Bluesfest 2021 has been cancelled due to the latest COVID-19 outbreak. This is the second year in a row where the festival has been cancelled due to the virus. Needless to say, it is a great disappointment, given the effort put in by the organisers to make this a successful COVID-safe event.

The NSW government has signed a public health order cancelling the festival.

Organisers are believed to be working on a new date, so ticketholders should watch this space.

In a statement from organisers, Peter Noble, Bluesfest Director says “This is one of the most difficult statements I have ever had to make. We really wanted to be at the forefront of the return of live music at Pre-COVID-19 level. We feel deeply for everybody affected, the fans, the artists, and the hard-working Bluesfest team. But in the end, the health of our community must come first.
We will be having discussions regarding Bluesfest postponement and will update everybody soon.”

Patrons will be contacted by Moshtix directly once further plans are put in place.
