
BLACKPINK’s JENNIE (Jennie Kim) has been making a splash as a solo artist both in music and on screen. After the renowned K-pop group BLACKPINK decided to take a break to focus on solo projects, Jennie launched her solo career with the single “Solo” in 2018, and just a year later, became the first solo Korean artist to perform at Coachella.
Known for her K-pop stardom, the singer has defied boundaries with her latest release “Damn Right” which is charting on the Hot R&B Songs chart. This is Jennie’s second time being placed on the R&B charts, giving her notable acclaim on Billboard charts around the globe, an accolade that few K-pop stars have achieved.
Jennie is seemingly everywhere right now, from performing around the world, to attending the MET Gala, and even appearing in HBO’s The Idol. Jennie is a multi-fascated artist with her hands in so many projects, it’s hard to keep up. Most recently, the starlet has been appointed the official tourism ambassador for Seoul, Korea.

The campaign Absolutely in SEOUL will feature Jennie in two videos titled DALTOKKO and SEOUL CITY.
Take a look at the teaser that was just launched today, the first of many “content drops”:
Jennie, a Seoul native, has often shared her deep affection for the city, describing it as her “city of inspiration” and saying that “Seoul’s sensibility reflects my style.”
The first video, DALTOKKI, will be presented in a short film format featuring renowned locations across the region. It will be released on August 8th.
The second, SEOUL CITY will feature Jennie’s song “Seoul City” from her debut album Ruby which was released this past March. This will come out one week later on August 15th. In addition to these two longer-format videos, two short-form videos and an accompanying interview will also be released.
All videos will be released on the VisitSeoul YouTube Channel.
In combination with the digital releases, the campaign will also be broadcasted on major international television channels, along with an international print media campaign with outdoor advertising in Australia, the United States and more. But the campaign doesn’t end there. Along with the cinematic releases will be an accompanying digital merchandise drop that will include exclusive posters of Jennie in Seoul.
With Absolutely in SEOUL, Jennie continues to prove that her influence extends far beyond music. As the face of this global tourism campaign, she not only showcases the beauty and depth of her hometown but also reinforces her status as a cultural icon on the world stage.
From breaking records on the Billboard charts, to promoting Seoul as a go-to travel destination, Jennie’s journey reflects the evolution of a global artist who embraces her roots while shaping the future.
