Austin's own The Black Angels brings the Pandora Discovery Den to a close at SXSW 2015

For the last four days, the Pandora Discovery Den at SXSW has been taking audiences through the world of music, starting with Electronic, moving through Hip Hop, Americana and closing the week out with a day dedicated to Rock. Performing through the final day were artists like Big Data – who earlier in the day also rocked the Rachael Ray Feedback Party at Stubb’s – Joywave, Ex Cops, Zella Day, Priory and Palma Violets.

Brooklyn based outfit San Fermin were the second last band to take the stage, around midnight, with lots of brass and a great dynamic between the two vocalists, Charlene Kaye and Allen Tate. Their popular single from 2013, “Sonsick”, was well received, as was the new single “Jackrabbit”, off the new album of the same name. The set closed out with an impressive cover of “Heart in a Cage” by The Strokes.

Closing out the night – and in turn the week of action at both the Pandora Discovery Den and the official SXSW showcases themselves – were Austin’s own The Black Angels, who performed tracks like “Broken Soldier” and “Young Men Dead”, which closed the night with a massive jam session (naturally). The group also previewed a new track amongst the psychedelic hour-and-a-bit long set.

The Pandora Discovery Den took place at SXSW from Wednesday, March 18th until Saturday, March 21st.
