Aussies Abroad: Atlanta’s Shaky Knees drop epic 2019 line-up with headliner Tame Impala, Tash Sultana, Julia Jacklin and more

Launching into its seventh year, Shaky Knees Festival is back and bigger than ever with one of the most epic line-ups we’ve seen this year. Situated in Central Park, Atlanta from the 3rd – 5th of May 2019, the festival not only boasts tonnes of high quality acts, the best bites in town and an array of fun activities but its line-up is dripping with some of our much loved Aussie talent such as headlining act Tama Impala, indie sweetheart Julia Jacklin and everybody’s favourite multi-instrumentalist Tash Sultana.

Tame Impala have been making waves  and Australian music lovers everywhere are proud as punch of Kevin Parker and co, who have been taking the world by storm with tracks from their famed 2015 album Currents. The WA psychedelic rockers, whose tracks have been streamed hundreds of millions of times online, are headlining the US festival in mid-2019 alongside epic, world-renowned acts such as Beck, Cage the Elephant and Incubus. With rumours of a new album on the horizon it’s no doubt that this coming year is bound to be a big one for the adored group.

With a taste of her forthcoming album having just been released, Sydney favourite Julia Jacklin will join the likes of Tears for Fears, The Dandy Warhols and Gary Clark Jr at the Atlanta summer festival. With sold out shows, millions of streams and a legion of fans on her belt it will be no surprise that the ‘Eastwick’ singer will be pulling crowds at Central Park. With her second full length album Crushing set for release late February, 2019 is bound to be a whirlwind year for the indie-folk icon.

After their home videos went viral, the busker turned internationally acclaimed artist Tash Sultana is unsurprisingly high up on the Shaky Knees bill and bound to be reeling in crowds from all over. With 500 million streams, sold out world tours and a heck load of talent, Sultana has become an iconic Australian figurehead in the music industry and one of the most beloved multi-instrument soloists globally. Topping itunes charts, achieving gold and platinum sales on tracks and scoring 10x Aria award nominations means its no surprise that the Melbourne-born artist is kicking it alongside Interpol, Foals, Grouplove and more!
