A Tribe Called Quest and The Roots perform “Can I Kick It?” on The Tonight Show – Watch here

News hit earlier this week that seminal hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest will be making a rare appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, instantly building anticipation for what is now, unfortunately, a rare opportunity to see the group as one. Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Phife Dawg, and even “part-time” member Jarobi White were all on board, and indeed they took to Jimmy Fallon on Friday.

Coupled with The Roots, the group, with Q-Tip at the centre, took the crowd through a hyped-up version of classic “Can I Kick It?” to show that they can still rock with the best of them. There was so much energy in the performance that even Fallon couldn’t stop yelling after he ran on stage after the performance and awkwardly started screaming “get out, get out!”. Watch the performance below and look out for the reissue of ATCQ’s People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm.
