Here’s what you should know before Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders go live at midnight tonight

Grand Theft Auto 6 is certainly creeping towards its November 19 release date, but it all feels much closer given Aussies will be able to pre-order the game from midnight tonight. There are a few other bits of information recently confirmed by Rockstar Games that we should also mention.

While we’ll get to the actual editions and prices in just a moment, it’s also worth noting that Rockstar Games has confirmed via a PlayStation note to IGN that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be a single-player experience. Absolutely massive. What this means for Grand Theft Auto Online is unclear, but we can only assume it’s going to hang around as its own entity, with newer updates in the future.

As for the actual game (brace yourselves), the physical edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 will not include a disc inside the box. Instead, you’ll be getting a download code, which will be available in stores from November 12, allowing you to purchase the game and pre-install before its official launch. This is undoubtedly a tough pill to swallow for physical collectors.

There will also be two editions of the game available for pre-order. The standard edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost A$129.95, while an Ultimate Edition will cost A$159.95.

The Ultimate Edition of the game will include:

  • ’95 Grotti Cheetah vehicle

  • Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers

  • Personalised sidearms with detailed engravings for Jason’s Girardi ES9 pistol and Lucia’s Klose K17 pistol

  • Vice City Style outfits for Jason and Lucia

  • Army fatigue-tinged Dinka Enduro motorcycle or Crest Kayak vehicles for Jason’s safehouse

  • Ganado Retro Build muscle car mods

  • Rideout Customs vehicle stylings

  • Sara’s Unisex Salon for additional hairstyles for Jason and Lucia

  • Shitzu Squalo watercraft

  • Stock 305 clothing options

  • ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy vehicle and garage

  • Electric Fan Tattoo shop with over 50 new tattoo designs for Jason and Lucia

  • One-Eyed Willie’s mod shop

  • Goodtime Gear clothing

  • Ptt Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store gang compound

  • Classic Car Collection

Anyone who pre-orders either the standard or Ultimate Edition will also receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, which features, according to the official website,  “a timeless ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage alongside Ocean Beach, decadent outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, and an iconic weapon pattern that echoes the excess of the past.”

We expect most prominent software and gaming retailers to have this available for pre-order as of midnight, and we’ve listed a few for you below:

Of course, you’ll also be able to catch the digital editions on both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
