2016 APRA Award nominees announced

The nominations for the 2016 APRA Music Awards (to be held on 5 April) have been announced and show, again, just how strong our scene is.

Up for four awards each, and both contending for ‘Most Played Australian Work’ and ‘Pop Work of the Year’, are Jarryd James and Sia Furler. Other acts with multiple nominations include Hilltop Hoods, Vance Joy, Peking Duk and Tkay Maidza.

Triple J Hottest 100 winners The Rubens and their winning song Hoops are up for ‘Rock Work of the Year’. While ‘Song of the Year’ nominees are Birds of Tokyo (Anchor), Jarryd James (Do You Remember), Tame Impala (Let It Happen), Courtney Barnett (Pedestrian At Best) and C.W. Stoneking (The Zombie).
