Bennelong to open up private balcony for an alfresco pop-up bar (Sydney)

Peter Gilmore’s stunning new Bennelong has been the biggest of big deals as far as restaurants go in Sydney this year, settling into it’s nice, spacious nook in Sydney Opera House and becoming one of the most sought after culinary experiences in the city. The team behind the restaurant are planning a bit of a special treat to bring in the new year, and one that will likely come with a bit of a smaller price tag than the full restaurant.

Opening up their private balcony for just over three weeks, Bennelong will launch The Bennelong Balcony pop-up bar, calling upon the talents of the restaurant’s bar manager, Aaron Gaulke, to design a number of special cocktails focusing on gin and spritz, with concoctions like Whispers on the Breez (bianco vermouth, sauvignon blanc, elderflower liqueur, cucumber slices, and lemon peel, topped with soda) and Just Fine and Dandy (Piper-Heidsieck Champagne, Ketel One Vodka, St Germain elderflower liqueur, apricot Brandy, cloudy apple juice, and butters). Alongside these cocktails will be Piper-Heidisiech, and Endeavour Pale Ale, alongside a specially crafted bar menu.

The Bennelong Balcony pop-up will kick off on 8th January and last until 31st January. It will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12pm to late at Sydney Opera House, Bennelong Point, Sydney. Contact them on 02 9240 8000.
