PAX Aus 2019 tickets go on sale tomorrow

We’ve known for a while that PAX Australia, the nation’s biggest gaming convention, will return to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for its seventh consecutive year. However, in a break from previous years, the show will shift slightly from its traditional late-October slot to the middle of the month.

The show’s new dates are October 11-13. This shift allows PAX and the Melbourne International Games Week festival to avoid overlapping with the city’s Spring Carnival horse racing season, a scheduling issue that has dogged the convention since it first moved to the MCEC in 2014. Avoiding Spring Carnival should mean attendees flying in from interstate or overseas can find accommodation more easily — and avoid dealing with rowdy race day crowds streaming into Crown from Southern Cross Station.

Tickets for this year’s show will go on sale tomorrow, March 26, at 12:30 pm AEDT. Early bird rates are in effect so single day passes for Friday, Saturday or Sunday will set you back $65 or you can grab a three-day pass for $170. You’ll be able to get them here once the link goes live tomorrow. Get in quick as they’ll be pricier once the early bird period ends, and three-day passes typically sell out first.

A previous version of this piece included incorrect early bird ticket pricing due to an error in the press release. It has been updated to reflect the correct pricing.
