Patton Oswalt battles creepers in first trailer for Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode

Telltale Games have made an appearance at Minecon 2015 in London over the weekend, bringing the first trailer for their next episodic adventure, Minecraft: Story Mode.

The game, that follows the same choice-based formula as other games in Telltale’s stable like Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us, centers on a young man named Jesse (played by comedian Patton Oswalt) and his motley crew of friends. They are on a quest to uncover the Order of the Stone, a legendary Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Architect and Griefer. The Order’s legend tells that they battled and slew an Ender Dragon and the world needs them once again. The game also stars Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us), Brian Posehn (The Sarah Silverman Program), Billy West (FuturamaRen & Stimpy) and the great Paul Reubens (Peewee’s Big Adventure).

The trailer provides a perspective on the beloved create-em-up that we haven’t seen before and (best of all) isn’t weighed down with some ginned-up explanation for why it looks so blocky and low-res. It’s Minecraft. That’s just how it looks.

Minecraft: Story Mode will arrive later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, iOS and Android.
