Overwatch‘s 2017 Winter Wonderland event kicks off next week

Blizzard are bringing back Overwatch‘s holiday event for a second year with fresh skins, Mei’s Global Snowball Offensive, and a brand new Boss Fight mode that sounds like the world’s friendliest Evolve mod.

The new Boss Fight mode will see a team of five Mei’s (a scenario game director Jeff Kaplan freely describes as sounding like everyone’s worst nightmare made real) against a single, pumped up, enraged Yeti (aka Winston). Sounds fun, we’re down.

Mei’s Global Snowball Offensive, the artic themed one-hit-one-kill snowball fight mode that proved incredibly popular last year will return in 2017 and moves to the Black Forest 3v3 map near Eichenwald.

In terms of skins, Papa Jeff only hints at a couple, including a much-requested Hanzo skin from a previous comic (and we’re tipping its this one from last year’s Christmas comic) as well as legendary skins for Junkrat and Roadhog. All the new skins will appear alongside last year’s skins so you can potentially hoover up any that you missed last time around.

The Winter Wonderland 2017 event kicks off December 14. We’re switching back to our Santa Torb skin in preparation.
