New Prey trailer looks like a cross between Dishonored and BioShock

Arkane Studio’s revival of Prey got a new trailer during The Game Awards last night, its first since its E3 2016 reveal, as well as a promise from the developer that the game would launch in Spring (that’s Autumn for us here in Aus) next year.

Prey will see players become Morgan Yu, subjected to some wildly unethical experiments designed to give the human race an evolutionary leg-up. Morgan regains consciousness on the Talos 1 space station in 2032 and, as far as we can tell, immediately begins battling smoke monsters.

The trailer shows off certain areas within the space station that have a decidedly BioShock-inspired feel to them, in addition to numerous weapons and some very Dishonored-esque abilities (which would make sense given Arkane’s back catalogue).

Prey originally released back in 2006 and featured a native American hero being abducted by aliens and solving his problems with portals. It was developed by Human Head. Arkane’s Prey is a reimagining of that game, is published by Bethesda and is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC in 2017.
