New Kingdom Hearts III trailer unveils second Pixar-centric level, Monsters Inc

Here we all are enjoying our perfectly normal Saturdays and out of nowhere Disney’s D23 Expo Japan goes and drops an honest-to-god trailer for Kingdom Hearts III.

The trailer, embedded below, is a four minute show stopper that features series heroes Sora, Goofy and Donald Duck galavanting through a few different game worlds, including Toy Story (last seen in the trailer released at the US D23 Expo last year), Tangled, The Little Mermaid and what looks suspiciously like the overgrown forest from Sleeping Beauty (or maybe Beauty & The Beast).

We also get a peek at some more gameplay footage, featuring  monsterised versions of Sora, Goofy and Donald rampaging through locations like the Scaring Floor from Monsters Inc. and the forest Rapunzel and Flynn travel through in Tangled.

Perhaps most importantly the trailer carries an important tagline at its conclusion — Coming 2018. Could it be that after thirteen years, 2018 could be the year we finally get Kingdom Hearts III?

We hold out of hope of a formal release date announcement at E3 2018.
