First Dark Souls 3 expansion to debut in October

The first suite of DLC for From Software’s Dark Souls 3 will launch in October. Per details from the game’s season pass, the new expansion will bring a slew of fresh spells, weapons and more.

Titled “Ashes of Ariandel,” the expansion will feature a host of fresh content if early materials featured on Japanese blog Hachima are to be believed. These include what appear to be flaming swords, frost magic and a PvP mode called Immortal Competition.

You can purchase either of the game’s forthcoming DLC packs separately or grab the season pass to secure every last scrap of DLC released for the game in one fell swoop.

Ashes of Ariandel is set for release on October 25.
