Bayonetta is coming to Smash Bros in February, new amiibo inbound

The final Nintendo Direct episode for 2015, focused solely on Super Smash Bros, just wrapped up. The presentation made a number of character and amiibo announcements, including the winner of this year’s Character Ballot. You can watch the full 30-minute video after the jump.

Starting with a new character we already knew about, Final Fantasy VII‘s Cloud Strife will be available for purchase and download on the Nintendo eShop later today.

The winner of this year’s official Character Ballot was, surprisingly, Bayonetta. Nintendo said during the episode that she was the “overall number one choice worldwide.” Bayonetta will receive two costumes, her signature Witch Powers and quad-gun setup and a level of her very own. She’s expected to drop in February.

Bayonetta wasn’t the only new character announcement for the episode though, with Fire Emblem Fates’ Corrin also coming to Smash Bros. Similar to Robin, players will be able to choose between the male and female version of the character. Corrin is also expected to be released in February.

In even better news for amiibo collectors, each of these characters will be getting amiibo figures of their own (and we wish you the best of luck trying to find the Cloud one post-release without a preorder). No release date on the figures was released but for those chasing R.O.B., Roy and Ryu figures, those will become available in March 18, 2016.
