The Other Art Fair returns to Sydney this March

The Other Art Fair is returning to Sydney during Art Month, and will showcase over one hundred emerging Australian and international artists at the Australian Technology park from 22 – 25 March.

Saatchi Art, the world’s leading online art gallery will be presenting the fourth Sydney edition of The Other Art Fair (TOAF), promising an exciting new fair program, including an exclusive Art Month after-party held at the Opening Night of TOAF.

The fair will also include a range of dynamic features from interactive installations, workshops, tours led by Saatchi Art guest curators, live demonstrations inside the new ‘Artist Studio’, a fully curated musical line-up with new fair partner Musicland and an in-door Sculpture Garden presented by hotel partner Ovolo hotels.

“The Other Art Fair is unique in focus, supporting emerging artists and future art stars by providing a platform to connect unrepresented artists with galleries, companies and individual collectors. By purchasing art at the Fair, collectors directly support emerging talent and contribute to growing the opportunities for undiscovered artists in Australia,” Fair Director, Zoe Paulsen said

The Other Art Fair has partnered with the National Art School and the Australian Film Radio and Television School to continue supporting  emerging talent.

“The Other Art Fair is ultimately about giving emerging artists the platform to explore and experiment within a safe and inclusive environment. Artists are given the opportunity to build on their careers in a real world setting – we’re very motivated to see our artists succeed”Paulsen added.

The emerging talent presented in the fourth edition of The Other Art Fair are selected by a high profile Selection Committee – members of a globally significant art community who uphold the high standard of the fair. For 2018, The Other Art Fair is honoured to announce their committee of art industry experts: Barbara Flynn (Leading Curatorial Advisor), Michael Reid (Contemporary Art Advisor, Co-Founder Art Month Sydney), Rebecca Wilson (Saatchi Art, VP Art Advisory and Chief Curator), Sophia Kouyoumdjian (Director of Parramatta Artist Studios), Teresa Biet (Founder and Director of Art Incubator Ltd.) and Tess Allas (Aboriginal Art Advisor and Curator).

“With a shared mission of identifying and supporting emerging artists from all over the world, Saatchi Art and The Other Art Fair are natural partners,” said Rebecca Wilson, Chief Curator and Vice-President of Art Advisory, Saatchi Art.

“The alliance of our two brands has set a new precedent for the art world, with seamless integration between Saatchi Art’s curated online gallery and The Other Art Fair’s offline events giving artists exciting opportunities to show their work locally and globally, and enabling art lovers to discover outstanding emerging artists.”

The Other Art Fair was conceived in the UK by founder Ryan Stanier in 2011 and has since hosted 23 editions in New York, London, Bristol, Sydney and Melbourne . It is the chance for art lovers to be invoplved in an immersive experience where they meet artists directly and can invest in future stars of the art world.
