Kings of Leon and Ocean Alley join Sydney Summertime’s impressive 2027 lineup

Kings of Leon

Sydney Summertime has added a second headliner to its debut run at Centennial Park. A month after The Strokes were confirmed to open the series, organisers have announced Kings of Leon for Sunday, 28 February 2027, with Ocean Alley joining them as special guests.

The Nashville band will be touring their tenth studio album, O My Beloved, due 6 November. Expect the new material alongside the songs that made them arena regulars – “Sex on Fire”, “Use Somebody” and “The Bucket” among them.

Ocean Alley make a lot of sense on this bill. The Northern Beaches six-piece have turned their mix of psych-rock, reggae and slow-burn grooves into one of the country’s biggest live draws, and “Confidence” and “Knees” have become crowd singalongs wherever they play. It’s fair to say, they are festival-favourites on our shores.

As previously announced, The Strokes will kick off the series on Saturday, 20 February, joined by Beck, Courtney Barnett and Promiseland. With two substantial bills already confirmed, it’s a banging lineup already for this first-year event.

Presented by Black Peach, Sydney Summertime is pitching itself as more than a standard park show. On top of general admission, there’s the front-of-stage Gold Circle, a garden-style VIP area called The Grove, and The Terrace, a partially covered deck overlooking the stage. Sydney restaurant pop-ups, food trucks, local producers and dedicated bars will be spread across the site.

The Kings of Leon show is all ages. Kids 12 and under get in free, and discounted Youth Tickets are available for 13 to 17-year-olds; all under-18s must be with a responsible adult. Return public transport is included with every ticket.

With more announcements still to come, Sydney Summertime is already looking like a welcome addition to the city’s live music calendar.
