Celebrating 35 years of bringing the world to Adelaide, WOMADelaide has unveiled its first full artist lineup for 2027, returning to Adelaide’s Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla from 5–8 March. The festival has always been noted for its rich diversity of music and culture, and 2027 looks set to continue that tradition.
British rave pioneers Underworld, known for their classic party anthem “Born Slippy .NUXX” head up the announcement. Needing no introduction to anyone who lived through the 1990s rave and dance music explosion, this promises to be a show not to be missed.
Canadian polka-dot-wearing duo Angine de Poitrine have burst on the scene with their math-rock, space-voyaging music. Their unique style and imagery have captured the attention of music lovers around the world and this will be another must-see experience.

Grammy-nominated Malian singer-songwritern Fatoumata Diawara (France) has collaborated with the likes of Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur), Oumou Sangaré and Disclosure. Her soaring vocals send chills down your spine, and she will be a compelling addition to the lineup.
If that’s not enough, Leon Bridges (USA), Madness (UK), and Tinariwen (Azawad) have been previously announced.
Kyiv-based DakhaBrakha (Ukraine) have performed at Glastonbury and are renowned for blending Ukrainian folk traditions, global rhythms and contemporary sounds. The soulful voice of Christine Anu (Australia), has captivated Australian audiences for over three decades. The legendary Dr. L. Subramaniam (India) performed at the very first WOMADelaide in 1992 and will be returning this year. A master of his craft and one of the world’s most revered violin virtuosos, he has captivated audiences for more than five decades.
Of course, WOMADelaide is more than just music. Installations such as Helios, a spectacular seven-metre diameter replica of the sun by artist Luke Jerram (UK) light the night sky. Roving absurdist performers Les Goulus (France) return with three of their interactive shows The Horsemen, Equicoaches and Cupids.
Regular events such as the popular Taste the World program will see artists sharing their favourite food from their homeland. KidZone has plenty of activities to keep the youngsters amused, while The Planet Talks will continue highlight and discuss environmental and social issues from around the world.
The founder of WOMAD, Peter Gabriel had this to say about the festival:
“As we celebrate 35 years of WOMADelaide, I’m reminded how extraordinary this festival and its audience truly are… I am immensely proud of what this festival stands for and for the open-minded and adventurous audience that brings it to life.”
WOMADelaide returns to Adelaide’s Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla from 5–8 March 2027. Tickets are now on sale, with more artists to be announced.
