Netflix launches “Watch Your Favourite Books” hub for avid readers and BookTok fans

If your ever-growing “to be read” pile is competing with your streaming watchlist, Netflix has a new feature designed to bridge the gap between the two.

Launching globally on June 2, Watch Your Favourite Books is a dedicated destination within Netflix that curates the platform’s extensive collection of literary adaptations, helping viewers discover films and series based on the books, comics, manga and web stories they already love.

The new experience arrives at a time when book-to-screen adaptations continue to dominate conversations online, particularly among the thriving BookTok community. Rather than simply grouping titles together, Netflix has organised the hub around nine different reader personalities, allowing members to browse according to the kinds of stories they gravitate toward.

Whether you’re drawn to unforgettable characters, immersive fantasy worlds, twist-filled mysteries, sweeping romances, historical dramas or nonfiction stories, the hub is designed to replicate the feeling of wandering through a favourite bookstore and stumbling upon your next obsession.

Among the categories are sections for readers who love great plot twists, fans of all-ages adventures, manga and comic enthusiasts, and those who enjoy history and period pieces. There are also dedicated collections for viewers seeking romance-driven stories, rich world-building and adaptations of popular web-based stories.

The launch highlights Netflix’s growing catalogue of literary adaptations, which have become some of the platform’s most talked-about original productions. Australian and New Zealand audiences will also find locally produced adaptations featured prominently, including Boy Swallows Universe, Apple Cider Vinegar, The Survivors, Red Dog: True Blue and the upcoming adaptation of My Brilliant Career.

According to Netflix, the initiative was inspired by the passionate global community of readers who regularly seek out screen adaptations of their favourite books. The company says the new hub builds on previous fan-focused experiences and is designed to make discovering new stories feel more personal and engaging.

For viewers who have ever finished a novel and immediately searched for the adaptation—or watched a series and then rushed to buy the book it was based on – the new feature offers a streamlined way to explore both worlds.

Watch Your Favourite Books is available globally from June 2nd and can be found directly on the Netflix homepage, through search, or by visiting the platform’s dedicated books destination.
