Astral People have announced Move My Way, a brand new twin-city festival set to arrive this October, taking over Carriageworks in Eora/Sydney on Saturday 3 October and PICA in Naarm/Melbourne on Sunday 4 October. Headlined by Ezra Collective, Freddie Gibbs, Kokoroko and Sampa the Great, the inaugural festival is a community-focused gathering grounded in comfort, connection and a shared musical language. At a time when Australia’s festival landscape continues to shift, Move My Way arrives as a rare offering, bringing together international heavyweights, selectors and local communities in a way local audiences haven’t seen for some time. Across both cities, the festival will transform its venues into multi-stage spaces celebrating the sounds that move between hip hop, R&B, jazz and the contemporary club continuum.
Leading the lineup are Mercury Prize-winning jazz outfit Ezra Collective, arriving off the back of their 2025 album Dance, No One’s Watching and a viral performance at Glastonbury earlier this year. Joining them is Grammy-nominated American rapper Freddie Gibbs, whose extensive catalogue and recent release Alfredo 2 continue to cement his place among contemporary hip hop’s most respected voices. London-based Kokoroko return to Australia following the release of their second album and tour Tuff Times Never Last, while Zambian-born rapper and songwriter Sampa the Great brings her internationally acclaimed catalogue and stunning live presence back to Australian stages.
The broader lineup features Qendresa, GENA (Liv.e & Karriem Riggins), Luke Una, Takuya Nakamura, Coco María, Jamz Supernova, Tash LC, xmunashe and Miles Nautu, alongside Sydney-exclusive artist Mazzacles and Melbourne-exclusive artist RAH.
City-specific takeovers also form part of Move My Way’s debut, with Sydney collective Planet Trip curating a space at Carriageworks featuring La Foxy Fuzz, Lu Faria, Lauren Hansom, Mike Who, Ritual, Setwun and Sista Cini, while Melbourne institution Northside Records brings its own soul and funk-led programming to PICA with Chris Gill, El Fuentes, Emelyne, Lori, Mike Gurrieri, Mothafunk and Stuckey.
General tickets go on sale from 12pm AEST on Wednesday 20 May. You can find all the ticket and event info HERE
