Ahead of its general release this Friday, the AU review is proud to premiere the live video for “Figure It Out” from Joan & the Giants and Seb Szabo. A gorgeous celebration of friendship, the clip was filmed across two sold-out nights at Melbourne’s iconic Forum Theatre, capturing the pair at a genuine creative high while touring together in support of The Fray.
Rather than leaning into spectacle, the video thrives on intimacy — shared smiles mid-song, small moments of connection, and the unmistakable ease of two best friends performing together. Shot live and unfiltered, it mirrors the heart of the track itself: a song about navigating life’s uncertainty side by side, and trusting that somehow, you’ll figure it out together.
Speaking about the experience, Joan & the Giants frontwoman Gracie shares:
“This video was filmed by Matt Wood and Monique Pizzica on our recent tour supporting The Fray at the Forum over two nights in Melbourne. This is such a special venue that Seb and I have both been dreaming of playing for a long time, and to get to do our song together in front of the most radiant, lovely audience was a dream come true. ‘Figure it Out’ is a celebration of our friendship, and I think these shows were an ultimate high for all of us. Getting to do this together was the epitome of joy and something that we’ll hold close in our hearts forever. Making music isn’t always the easiest path; it can be such a hustle, and a constant investment of time, energy and money so when you have moments like these it makes every bit worth it.”
Originally from Western Australia and now based in Melbourne, Joan & the Giants have enjoyed a rapid rise — opening for P!NK and Tones & I at Optus Stadium in 2024, showcasing at SXSW Austin in 2025, and earning multiple WA Music Award wins and nominations. Former triple j Unearthed Feature Artists and Happy Mag Needle In The Hay winners, they continued their momentum touring nationally with The Fray last December.
Melbourne songwriter Seb Szabo has carved out a devoted following through heartfelt releases and relentlessly strong live performances. Fresh from BIGSOUND 2025, national support slots and a run of sold-out headline shows — including a three-night residency at The Gaso — Szabo’s recent work has earned consistent triple j and Unearthed support, with collaborations including his 2024 single “Twice Over” featuring Gretta Ray.
