Exclusive Video Premiere: Arabella and The Heist “Maraschino” (2025)

Arabella and The Heist

Earlier this month, femme-fronted Melbourne four-piece Arabella And The Heist released “Maraschino”, a masterclass in seductive and pulsating punk rock. They’ve captured the sensual and intimate feel to the song in the brilliant new video, which we’re thrilled to be premiering today.

The clip was directed and edited by Ryan Jones, with camera work by Ashton Taylor. It has a stripped-back feel that captures the intensity of “Maraschino”. Front-woman Holly Arabella explains the intention behind the production: “The music video, like the song, came from a place of wanting to play with the idea of tension and release. We chose an unconventionally claustrophobic space to set it within, set up a camera and filmed it ourselves. This allowed us the ability to play with the space in a way that portrays the pressure of the song.”

The pulsating bassline sets the scene for the chaos that follows. There’s no escaping the intensity of “Maraschino”; it’s seductive and liberating. Crank it up loud, and it’s reminiscent of a fiery IDLES, with elements of Elastica and The Kills teetering around the edges. Whatever the inspiration, Arabella And The Heist have laid down a track that is captivating and incendiary.

If you live in Naarm, you can catch them live at The Old Bar in Fitzroy, on Saturday, the 4th of October. Get your tickets early. It’s going to be a cracker. The links are below.
