Addison Rae’s debut Australian tour sells out faster than you can say Diet Pepsi

Pop princess Addison Rae announced her much-anticipated debut Australian tour last week, playing extremely intimate venues in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Whilst fans are excited, snagging tickets has been no easy task, with many questioning the choice of venue sizing.

Rae rose to fame on TikTok in 2019, where she was known for dancing. Her debut single “Obsessed” was released in 2021, and was critically slammed by multiple outlets. In 2024, she collaborated with Charli XCX on the remix of “Von Dutch”, before releasing her major single “Diet Pepsi” which skyrocketed her music career.

With Brat Summer coming to an end, pop fans were hungrily searching for the next big pop moment- enter, Addison, Rae’s debut record released on June 6th of this year. 33 minutes of bubblegum-pop bliss, this album has been exceptionally well-received by critics and listeners, with Rae gaining new fans and respect from previously critical outlets.

Rae’s debut Australian tour is set to be an incredible experience, though securing tickets has proven to be a challenging task. With each venue selling out twice, ticket queues were reportedly in the tens of thousands for each show, with the biggest venue capacity being Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall at 3,000. With a couple of gaps in the schedule, it wouldn’t be a surprise if more dates were to be added. Many have speculated venue upgrades, which is another possibility as there doesn’t seem to be any major clashes with other events, however being able to see this pop icon at such intimate venues would be an amazing experience in itself!

Pop music has never been more fun, and this year it’s only going to get bigger and better, with releases from Sabrina Carpenter and Lorde coming out soon. But right now, it’s Addison’s moment, so grab some Diet Pepsi and come and join the party.
