Exclusive Single Premiere: FARAH “Gasoline” (2025)

Farrah

Geelong-based singer/songwriter FARAH has taken an incredibly challenging and life-changing event as the genesis for her powerful and moving debut single, “Gasoline”. Written in the wake of her cancer diagnosis and dealing with the related trauma, it explores grief, identity, and the slow process of becoming, and we are honoured to be premiering it ahead of its release on Thursday.

FARAH’s vocals in this are sublime. There’s a spiritual quality to them, as though they are coming from an ancient temple, along with that worldly knowledge. The track takes the listener through the trauma of the diagnosis and what follows; it will resonate with many who have faced unexpected life-changing experiences. With its spiritual and worldly essence, “Gasoline” takes vocal influences from artists such as Meg Mac and Noah Cyrus.

About the song, FARAH writes:  “This release signifies the beginning of a new chapter for me as an artist and as a person. It’s a letting go, and a promise to myself to always create with intention and free-flowing expression, without judging the words that want to be sung.”

“Gasoline” was produced in collaboration with Beatrice (Haiku Hands). “Gasoline” was created as part of the GRID Series Geelong program, proudly supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and the Community Support Fund, in partnership with City of Greater Geelong.

Accompanying the track is a narrated documentary from FARAH. It is a narrated visual expression of rebirth, mirroring the heart of “Gasoline”. The short film follows FARAH as she learns to lean into joy again after surviving devastation—a powerful reflection of healing, transformation, and becoming.
