Tim Freedman & Eddie Perfect to perform and new presenters announced to take the stage at the Jameson IF Awards in Sydney.

Each year, not only do the IF Awards support the Australian film and television industry but also embrace the local music scene to support local acts and celebrates those behind the camera of our favourite music videos. Performing at this year’s show, Tim Freedman and The Idle will join the musically artistic Eddie Perfect, for a ceremony sure to be filled with entertainment, as the winner for the SAE Institute IF Award for Best Music Video is announced at the Jameson IF Awards Sydney.

The Jameson IF Awards Sydney will be held on the 16th November at Sydney’s Luna Park. With talent such as Xavier Samuel, Koko from Red Dog, Callan McAuliffe, Sophie Lowe, Richard Roxburgh and David Wenham confirmed, make sure you purchase your tickets now at www.ifawards.com.au. And just added to this list: Ronan Keating, Stephen Curry, Michael Dorman, Susie Porter, Matilda Brown, Morgana Davies, Ben Oxenbould, Gillian Armstrong, Catherine McClements, Leeanna Walsman and Kestie Morassi.

Tim Freedman is well known for his role as the lead singer and keyboardist in the iconic Australian band, The Whitlams. On the 4th November Freedman launched his first new album in six years with his new band, Tim Freedman and The Idle, who will be performing the song, You Weren’t In Love With Me, from the album Australian Idle. The album consists of twelve tracks that Freedman claims is his best album yet. Quite an impressive statement from the musician, as the album Eternal Nightcap by The Whitlams was voted this year as No.17 best Australian album of all time on JJJ.

Giving The Whitlams a break, Freedman’s latest creation sees the musician take an unabashedly joyful 70’s pop feel in the latest album. From Elton John to 10CC and back to The Beach Boys, his influences are on his sleeve. Keyboard heavy and rich with melody and harmonies, his band of two girls and three guys features two bandleaders in their own right, Heath Cullen and Amy Vee. On base the renowned Zoe Hauptmann will lay it down with drummer Dave Hibbard.

“Tim is a truly inspirational songwriter. I’m really enjoying the new songs and excited to work alongside such a gifted bunch.” Amy Vee – vocals, keys and guitar for Tim Freedman and The Idle.

Eddie Perfect is a triple treat as an actor, comedian and musician. This multi-talented performer is notorious for his satirical performances touring his solo show Misanthropology as part of the comedy circuit. As the host with the most-ess, Eddie is sure to entertain the A-list crowd with a show tune or two that will have them in fits of laughter.

The SAE Institute IF Award for Best Music Video celebrates the art of music videos by Australian artists with an Australian director. Nominees this year include Cameo Lover by Kimbra directed by Guy Franklin, Magic by Olivia Newton-John and WACCI directed by Dan Murphy and Overpass by The John Steel Singers directed by Josh Groom. With music videos a creative force in their own right, the Jameson IF Awards Sydney are excited to continue their support of such a diverse industry.
