The John Steel Singers announce hiatus following August/September tour

Ahead of their national tour in support of their new album Midnight At The PlutoniumThe John Steel Singers have announced via Facebook that they’re going to be going on hiatus after those tour dates.

Having toured through the UK and Europe over the last few years off the back of Everything’s a Thread and then landing some impressive international signings, the Brisbane group spent time refocusing on a new musical direction, which has been explored on Midnight At The Plutonium‘s material.

The lengthy Facebook post (can be read in full HERE) ensures fans that the band will still be making music together, but life outside the band has become more of a priority at the current moment.

“Now that it sounds like we’re breaking up I think it’s gotta be a good time to announce that we’re going on a hiatus after this upcoming tour. Don’t worry, we still love each other very much and will still make lots of music together. (Life has gotten particularly busy these days. There is a brand new child in the band, a brand new bar, a brand new business and the ongoing challenge of balancing life with touring has led to the decision of halting the touring life for now.) It hasn’t been an easy decision but it has been made easier by the fast that we made a goddamn beautiful decision and built ourselves a studio so we can look forward to making music again when the time is right.”
